Does Netvibes needs a Community Manager ?

As Netvibes, like other Web 2.0 services as Flickr or Twitter, continues to have problems
(check the GetSatisfaction page on Netvibes and here is the copy/paste from Summize widget on twitter posts about Netvibes):

Some specialist are advising all these service to create a COMMUNITY MANAGER:

"While the management has been kind of accessible, they really need someone who’s smack dab in the middle of the folks that use the product on a daily basis.

They need someone who’ll communicate constantly what’s going on and help even more so maintain this relationship.

Twitter (or Netvibes) is obviously a tool that folks depend on so it’s extra important to give special attention to the community and it’s feelings about it.

It’s all too easy for a community to turn on a product and move somewhere else (=>iGoogle+Google Reader)."

Twitter is down and no reason is given: Bad User Service


Twitter, another Web 2.0 star service, is down now for some hours.

No reason is given, just a laconic: Something is technically wrong.

In the Web 2.0 era: that is no more acceptable :( even for a cost free service .


Strangely enough I can send and read messages with my Netvibes Twitter widget.

François, the very efficient Custumer Service Officer for Netvibes Help desk, is directly notified when you post your problem: if a solution is available it will be given to you. And if not, perhaps will have some explanations :)

A good service that should be used by all serious Web2.0 start-ups as it shows all the problems occurring and the offered solutions.
It feels better when you notice that you are not the only one with the same problem or bug !

A similar service should be integrated in the Netvibes Blog.

Netvibes is up again ;) ... still some bugs but that is why Ginger is still a Private Beta

my Netvibes page is up again ;)

but there are still some bugs... as I am not able to transfer one Tab by email to another user...

NETVIBES is almost down again, but no warning this time...

Hi,

I can access my Netvibes page, but no feed is working only: weather , searches and webnotes...
No access to Universe.

But this time no warning or message from NETVIBES :( !!

Many complain for upgrading without any backup server...
This point is a serious one, for the Best International Startup ;) no matter if the service is for free and in Beta...

Netvibes is back to normal ;)

Netvibes is back:

Update: Everything is back to normal. The servers came up again at 8PM GMT (12AM PST). It took us then 30 minutes to digest the load of all the users refreshing their Netvibes every 20 seconds ;)

Netvibes will be down today at 5PM (GMT) for about 4 hours !!

Very important announcement from Netvibes Blog:

"You probably noticed some errors today around 1PM GMT (5AM PST) due to heavy load. We thought that you would love our new Ginger features but we didn't expect such a success!
In order to prevent any additional load problems we'll take this opportunity to bring the site down at
5PM GMT (9AM PST) in order to upgrade the database servers. The expected downtime is about 4 hours which will give us the ability to fix this and prepare the next wave of upgrades and features.
We'll of course let you know as soon as everything is up again.
Thank you very much for you patience and see you all soon on Ginger."


Be careful and save what you need, on the other hand get a copy of data you will need once Netvibes is down! This brings up again the problem of Data Back-up.

In my case I store ideas, links and small data directly on Netvibes :(

NETVIBES: your Custumers service rocks!

Hi,

Just to tell you that a few hours ago I had a problem charging Netvibes as I was posting here on my Blog.

Just an hour passed and someone from Netvibes, François, has taken his time to give me the advice to reset the netvibes cache by clicking on the following URL:
httt://www.netvibes.com/?reset_cache=1

and it worked !

If you can not access Netvibes.com try m.netvibes.com

Hi,

I am not able to access my Netvibes page on netvibes.com but by chance the m.netvibes.com was working!

http://m.netvibes.com is the netvibes version for your Mobile phone (even if you do not have one...).

To access it , type the same ID and Password.
The look is different, no colours but at least it was working!

UPDATE: after 5min it just out of order as the rest!

Problems charging Netvibes

Hi,

While (or because ?) the new Ginger release is showed at the WEB 3 conference in Paris, I am not able to charge my Netvibes page either in IE or FF.

I see the tabs but content is missing except the Widgets created with Any Url.

Hope it will work soon and that there will be some explanation...
