Hi to all my readers,

When I started this Netviber Experience' blog in December 2006, Netvibes was a young 1 year old start-up.

Now Netvibes has turned 3 and is a "mature company" ;-).

I think that this blog has completed its mission and I have decided that this will be my last post here !

Don't be sad, I will continue to participate with my own posts in Netvibes itself.

Search Netvibes Universes by Name

Hi,

I just found that in the new Ginger Version of Netvibes, you can search for Friends looking for their names, or better, the name of their Universe.

Just go to CONTACTS and type the string you want.
If you type netv you will get the new Netvibes Universe by Netvibes.

Little bug as my Universe is not showing up in my own search: ;( ...

The NETVIBER EXPERIENCE's Best Public Netvibes Universes Awards 2007

While I'm still waiting for my Ginger Upgrade, I visited the Public Universe of Tariq KRIM, CEO of Netvibes.

This time his Univers was listing its 67 Friends.

So I checked all of them to see what it was all about. As the content published was not at all impressive (a lot of widgets with facebook, twitter, gmail, basic feeds,...) I decided to spot for you what I think is the best of the Public Universes on Netvibes at the end of 2007.

So here are my NETVIBER EXPERIENCE' s Best Public Netvibes Universes AWARDS for 2007:

• BEST SERIOUS LAYOUT : Gauthier's Universe for general layout, avatar, ...


• BEST UNSERIOUS LAYOUT: François' Universe as above + self derision


• BEST PAGE ON NETVIBES: Charles' Universe because is quite complete and ... because there are the Feeds from Netviber Experience.


• BIGGEST TAB OFFER : NVQA Universe: 43 Public tabs !!


• BEST WISHES 2008 TAB: again François' Universe, just look at it.


• BEST HEADLINE PICTURE: Ben' Universe with a NY skyline

and finally my preferred page

• BEST ARTY PAGE/TAB is an all graphic Universe tab/page by LOLITA (sic)

For all of those who were not checked or that have made or seen better tabs and Universes feel free to show them to me. We will have another round of Awards in 2008.

Time names Netvibes in the 50 Best Websites 2007

as reported by Netvibes, Time has named Netvibes one of 50 Best Websites 2007 as a winner in the Web Service category.

Time decided "to honor sites with exceptional style and smarts, sites that offer new and improved ways to access and share content, generate our own and otherwise enrich the online (and off-line) experience".

Time gives a complete description of theservices provided Netvibes.com : Create a Custom Homepage and invites readers to vote so go here and vote (if you like).

I voted myself and my note was in the 90, higher than the 65 I credited Netvibes in a previous discussion because I wanted to point out the overall quality of the service that Netvibes provides compared also to other web service categories.

At the moment Netvibes ranks 7° with more than 700 votes with an average of 75 .

The only Netvibes competitor mentioned by TIME is: Honorable mention: Pageflakes.
